Mardi Gras Youth Zone
You may have already heard on theSprout of talks of a Youth Zone at this years Mardi Gras (Cardiff-Wales Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, othersise known as LGBT festival) Mardi Gras.
Well, we can now officially say that this is going ahead!
The Youth Zone is being head up by Loud & Proud (LGBT) youth group and funded by Cardiff Youth Service and Arts & Business to bring you a safe space at the event where you can come to talk to staff from Loud & Proud or Meic helpline about any worries or issues.
You can also get condom demonstrations from the C-Card scheme and find out where to join up for C-Card in Cardiff to have to free condoms and sexual health advice across the city. Also at the Youth Zone will be the one and only theSprout.co.uk getting up to all sorts of mischief!
There will also be the city centre street-based detached team walking around the field on the day and if you already have a C-Card you can get your stash off condoms them.
There are going to be loads of activities going on, here are just a few:
- Circus Workshop
- Dj Workshop
- Graffiti Art
- Mask Making
- Face Painting
- Bracelet Making
- Video Vox Pop
The Youth Zone is the first of its kind at Cardiff Mardi Gras so please come along and support this event. If the zone goes well this year then it could become a permanent fixture.
As this zone is for young people there will be a ban on alcohol being brought into the area.
