Morning all!
Speaking of mornings, I was up at 8am this morning! It’s horrendous I know, but I bear good reason! I had to catch a mystical machine that takes you from place to another for a moderately priced fare. It’s called a train. You should try it some time.

Usually at this point in an article I’d write something like ““Why were you on a train?” I hear you ask with a painful sense of curiosity” but seeing as I over use that, I’m just going to tell you! I was on my way to Bridgend to attend the launch of the new CLIC site, bwsted.com. Check it out dudes and dudettes.

The event was really fun and interesting. It was in the Bridgend Recreation Centre and had quite a few stalls all advertising their own organisations, clubs, projects etc. I soon noticed Geoff and his famous Kendo gear and after a brief catch-up I went over to see our fabulous editor Ryan, who was manning the impressive CLIC stall, which consisted of… a table with some messy wires and a hundred-odd CLICzines. You just can’t get rid of those things can you?

The day was thoroughly productive as I met many a contact. I have been informed by Ryan that this process is called “networking”. It was very fun and I met some lovely people including the Editor of Bwsted, Sarah: a lovely woman who was interesting, engaging and clearly very committed to the project. I met their sub-editor Garry: lovely fellow, who in turn introduced me to a gentlemen wearing a pregnancy simulator named Anthony. He’s a designer, along with his friend Pete.
As well as networking and meeting some lovely people, I also got involved in a few of the workshops there. Our very own Ryan led a great workshop on creative writing which had a lot of young people creating some fantastic pieces of work.

Then, I was challenged by a terrifying being, known as Garry! The Sub-Editor for Bwsted. The challenge? Three rounds in the Kendo ring! The prize? Everlasting glory for the victor’s site! It was an epic battle of theSprout vs. Bwsted! Me being my ruthless self, I wasn’t prepared to let Bwsted win just because it was their launch day, and I defended theSprout to the death! And I won! TheSprout reigns supreme!
After that nail-biting event, I met a lovely woman called Leanne who helped me make a clay animation film. I’ve attached it for your viewing pleasure! I think it’s quite good for a first attempt!

After a short chat with my fellow CLICers, we decided to call it a day and head back to Cardiff. Overall the day was successful and a great way to spend a day! Thanks to bwsted.com for a lovely morning/early afternoon. The train ride was pleasant. I hope you’ve enjoyed this article because it took me all of fifteen minutes to write!

Great to have you there and this is not a bad piece of animation for a first-timer! Glad you enjoyed yourself and "networked"! :P

Got something to say?
