My One Year Sproutiversary
My my, it has been a long time hasn’t it! I would apologise that I haven’t uploaded anything decent (or at all) for the past forever, but I don’t think I need to, so I won’t.
So after my ephemeral abeyance, you might be wondering what has persuaded me to take to my laptop again. Or you may have noticed the title. Yes, my wonderful Sprouters, and indeed, friends; today is my one year anniversary with theSprout.
Don’t believe me? Check me name. Go on. Click it. It’s right there. See that?! Stormer007 from Cardiff - member since 14th August 2010. And the date today? Why, it’s the 14th August 2011. That, for those of you who failed Year 1 date arranging, is one year exactly.
And I must say, it has been a wonderful year! I have accomplished so much in such a short space of time and it is all thanks to the wonderful people at theSprout and CLIC. I’ve been to places in Wales I would never have visited before and had a brilliant time doing it, making wonderful friends and gaining new skills which will be with me for life.
My creativity has flourished thanks to the accepting nature of theSprout and CLIC and its readership. I’ve written dozens of articles, every one of which I’m deeply proud. I’ve even made a couple of videos with one of my dearest friends I’ve met through CLIC, CrazyDistortion. Check him out! He’s awesome! They were super fun to make and it’s been wonderful knowing I have the potential to make such awesome vids whenever I want! CLIC is there to support young creativity and it does it whole-heartedly.
I’ve seen loads of theatre and gigs thanks to theSprout and CLIC (for a moderate fee of course, namely a review) and they’ve been wonderful. One sticks in my mind and that was Avenue Q down at the WMC. It was sensational and I bought the soundtrack.
I’ve done some truly extraordinary things thanks to theSprout and CLIC and they have changed my life around and set it on some sort of direction, whereas before, there was none. They have made me feel like I am important and have value. The people behind this life changing organisation are in my debt forever for being so wonderful, genuine and kind.
I’ve met some awesome people in CLIC who have actually, whether they know it or not changed my life completely. I’d like to thank all our truly wonderful editors. I’d go into detail but I’m close to breaking a tear now, so I’ll just say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.

You are more happier about this than your birthday a few days back aren't you? And I agree Clic is amazing and it's changed me a lot! Ofcourse, being from the RCT it's Wicid that I've mainly been involved in but TheSprout has two of my most amazing friends that I've ever met- you and Sinead. You're such a great writer & you're really creative! Here's to the future of you contributing and being awesome! :D x

This is lovely! It's nice to see that you have 'changed' so much from theSprout and CLIC. I must admit also, in a couple months I will have been a member with theSprout and CLIC for a year :)

I want to say a huge thank you to you Stormer007! You really are an exceptional person. You're so kind, positive, motivated and always happy to get involved. TheSprout only exists because of all the brilliant people that give up their time to contribute to it. I'm so glad to hear that you gain so much out of being involved, as theSprout and CLIC gain so much from having you involved! Thank you so much, happy Sproutiversary and lets make this next year even better!

It's so fantastic to hear what theSprout and CLIC has meant to you Stormer007. We love doing this job and that's thanks to people like you. Without the young people involved there wouldn't be a Sprout or CLIC and we are what we are because of you guys. It's you who make all this fun and worthwhile and it really is great to be able to tell people who criticise young people that they don't have a clue and that there are huge amounts of young people out there who are articulate, creative, kind, fun and make huge contributions to society. Keep at it, I for one love to read/look at all the creative content that our wonderful young people come up with! Power to the (young) people!!! :O)

I remember you at your first residential, you gave me the quote of the week, it was "Geoff, the secret for looking good in a wetsuit is ....... wear it with confidence" a lesson I will take to the grave my friend!
It's been a joy to work with you over the past year, you have a great personality and you are ever so slightly odd (in a good way), thank you so much for all of your input and here's to another year of wetsuit confidence!
